Nice is a real star; since 2015, average prices have risen by no less than 10.7%. Yes, your savings are in the right place in the South of France;-)
For those who prefer to buy an apartment in fashionable Monaco do need a substantial wallet: the price per square meter here is around 44,000 euros.
