Much of southern France, including the Var and the Alpes-Maritimes, is currently under high-temperature warnings from Meteo France. The weather service reported that exceptionally high temperatures are expected in the southern regions until Thursday morning, with a temporary spread to northern areas during the week. Yesterday afternoon, temperatures ranged from 31 to 35°C in the southwest, 33 to 39°C from the Gard to the Var, 30 to 36°C in Corsica, and 28 to 33°C across the rest of southern France. According to Meteo France, this heatwave is caused by “a very hot air mass originating from Spain.”
