
EASTER IN VENCE

Easter festivities are happening this weekend in the beautiful city of Vence as this year’s festival of the ‘corso fleuri de la Reine de Vence’ celebrates its 102nd birthday. This floral and festive weekend welcomes spring with dance and music, exhibitions, theatrical performances and concerts, starting this Saturday until the 7th of April with pony rides, egg hunts, merry-go-rounds and folkloric dances.

LES MOMENTS MUSICAUX

Les Moments Musicaux des Alpes-Maritimes present Vincent Dumestre and his famous baroque ensemble, le Poème Harmonique, for a unique concert. Treat yourself to the Stabat Mater, Pergoles’ masterpiece on Thursday 4th April at 8pm at the Cathedrale Sainte Reparate in Nice old town. CONCERT AT PRINCESS GRACE IRISH LIBRARY

What better way to brush away the winter blues than to embrace spring to the sound of music. The award-winning Irish folk music duo Zoe Conway and John McIntyre will be performing a concert on Thursday 4th April at 7pm at Princess Grace Irish Library for 15€ a ticket. Later this month, there’ll be a talk by Dr Maria McHale from the TU Dublin Conservatoire on Wednesday 24th April at 7pm which will focus on Eithne, the first Irish-language opera. PAGLIACCI IN CANNES

The Liberi Cantori presents its version of the two act Opera Pagliacci on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th April at 7pm at Holy Trinity church in Cannes. Tickets are on sale directly at the venue for €20 – or €15 for under-15s.

CHRISTIAN BONICHI AT ST JOHN’S MENTON

It’s jazz season at Saint John’s Anglican Church in Menton. For the latest concert, on Friday 5th April at 6.30pm, the church will welcome Chistian Bonichi, a multi-faceted artist. Be it as a tenor, saxophonist, flutist or clarinettist, Bonichi performed for several years in the heart of the Principality of Monaco and had the opportunity to accompany great singers such as Frank Sinatra and Jerry Lewis.
