Hoho, hoho! Here are the French Riviera 2024 Christmas markets.

The Christmas markets along the Côte d’Azur are a unique blend of Mediterranean charm and festive winter traditions. They offer a mix of traditional Provençal crafts, gourmet food, and family-friendly activities, all set against the stunning backdrop of the French Riviera’s azure coastline. Whether you’re looking for handmade gifts, a taste of local delicacies, or simply a dose of holiday spirit, these markets provide a memorable experience.

The Christmas season along the Côte d’Azur is a magical time when charming towns and cities along the French Riviera transform into winter wonderlands. Christmas markets, or “Marchés de Noël,” pop up in picturesque squares and along promenades, offering festive cheer, delicious food, unique gifts, and a cozy holiday atmosphere. Here’s a closer look at some of the most popular Christmas markets on the Côte d’Azur, including their locations, opening times, and dates.

1. Nice

The Nice Christmas Market is among the most famous on the Côte d’Azur. Situated in the beautiful Place Masséna, this market is part of the city’s “Village de Noël.” A large Ferris wheel, an ice-skating rink, and several wooden chalets create a festive atmosphere, with twinkling lights and decorations adding to the Christmas charm.

Dates: From November 29 until January 1.
Opening Times: The market generally opens daily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with extended hours on weekends. On Fridays and Saturdays, it often stays open until 9:00 PM.

Highlights: The market features local crafts, regional food like socca (a chickpea pancake), mulled wine, gingerbread, and unique Christmas gifts. Children can enjoy rides, a carousel, and Santa’s grotto.

2. Monaco

The Monaco Christmas market takes place at the Port Hercule, offering a dazzling seaside setting with the yachts of the rich and famous as a backdrop. The entire harbor area is decorated with festive lights and Christmas trees, giving Monaco a warm, cozy holiday atmosphere.

3. Cannes

Cannes is known for its glamour, and its Christmas market, the “Village de Noël,” doesn’t disappoint. The Cannes Christmas market is located at the Allées de la Liberté, a central location near the old harbor and the famed Croisette. The city is beautifully decorated, and festive activities can be found throughout the town.
