The Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology has an interesting exhibition which allows visitors to discover a different side of Prince Albert I of Monaco. Meet the prehistorian prince, the scientist and explorer, and trace the history of his archaeological expeditions. From the Grimaldi caves to Spain, from the founding of the Monaco Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology to the Paris Institute of Human Paleontology, visitors will follow his incredible journey and archaeological discoveries. Since its designation as a “National Orchestra in the Region” in 2022, the Cannes National Orchestra has joined the ranks of France’s most prestigious ensembles. Under the guidance of its creative musical director, Benjamin Levy, it has successfully attracted a new audience through innovative programming, including varied concert formats, commissioned works, and a diverse repertoire.In line with this trend, featuring guitarist Yaron Deutsch and under the direction of the esteemed conductor Pierre-André Valade, long devoted to contemporary music and acclaimed for the finesse of his direction, the orchestra continues to showcase classical music in its modernity. Iconic compositions from the 20th and 21st centuries by renowned composers such as Ivan Fedele, André Jolivet, and Hugues Dufourt will be performed. The program will also feature the latest creation by Dufourt, making its debut in France: “L’Enclume du rêve,” inspired by Chillida, for electric guitar and orchestra.At 80 years old, a philosopher and avid art enthusiast, Dufourt stands as a global figure in contemporary music, marking this performance as a celebration of his enduring impact on the musical landscape.
