When I arrived here somewhere in the late 80’s, I wasn’t looking for an apartment to buy in Nice. However, the city did feel immediately like home. At least the size was more or less the same as Amsterdam combined with that Big City feeling (and attitude), and still doable for a walk or a bike ride to see all areas. Nice is cultural, historical and filled with many restaurants and rooftop bars. A great combination to enjoy life!
I started slowly to fly each month for a long weekend to Nice, enjoying the pebbly beach and a salad Niçoise with a glass of red wine. Being in Nice felt so good, I forgot to explore the rest of the beaches. Much later I learned that sandy beaches start in Antibes, all the way to Saint Tropez.
Many things changed and improved over the years; the city has expanded to the Westside, and tramlines connected remote areas with the famous Italian old town and the Promenade des Anglais. Nice Côte d’Azur still has a pleasant vibe that makes you want to come back.

If you live abroad, one day you wake up with that brilliant idea: you start looking for an apartment to buy in Nice. Congratulations! Once you have that idea, it will not leave your mind. You are now starting to search for that apartment to buy in Nice. First a bit reluctant (you’re not that serious are you?) but then you find an apartment, close the harbour with a sunny little balcony. That’s the sign you have to fly in!
Looking for an apartment to buy in Nice France
And this may sound like real estate blabla (that we hate), but property prices in Nice and the surrounding areas have only increased ever since my first visit. In 2022, Nice Cote d’Azur noted another wooping 11,3 % price increase. It’s crazy, but hey, everybody wants to be here for some good reasons.
Bottom line is that an investment in the capital of the French Riviera is a proven solid investment. The rest of France can be complaining that real estate sales are slow; we still sell nice romantic apartments in Nice to Dutch, Finnish and Americans.
Especially for American people searching for an apartment to buy in Nice, France, the time for investing a French Riviera property is excellent. The dollar-euro rates are extra attractive, and with our Foreign Exchange service, they can also save extra money on banking transfer costs. This applies also to English property buyers. Anyone outside the EU zone can save a lot of money if they need to transfer money to buy an apartment in Nice.

The Mediterranean climate is healthy thanks to the combination of sun, sea and healthy food. It is also scientifically proven that waking up with sunshine makes you happy. Being a popular tourist destination gives Nice an international vibe. Everybody speaks English so there are no real language barriers. That makes it an ideal location for expatriates and international travelers.
Because of its international popularity, you could make a nice extra income with seasonal rental. However, Nice and Villefranche sur Mer are looking to cut back the number of Airbnb’s. It’s a silly plan and they will shoot in their own foot because tourists will move further away to more Airbnb friendly villages.
People who are looking for vacation homes in this area tend to search for properties that are well-located. Owning real estate in this region can provide you with a high potential for rental earnings. Its property values have typically appreciated over time.
The value of properties in this area is expected to stay stable or increase as the French Riviera region continues to attract international buyers seeking a solid and good quality of life.
Thanks to the new tramlines in Nice, you can easily visit districts like Fabron, Joia Meridia or Mont Boron. The tram brings you in ten minutes from the airport to the old town and vice versa. How much more convenience do you need for a weekend on the Cote d’Azur?
